Regretting the past and fearing the future...
I was regretting the past and fearing the future.
Suddenly, my Lord was speaking:
"My name is I am."
Suddenly, my Lord was speaking:
"My name is I am."
He paused.
I waited. He continued,
"When you live in the past
with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WAS.
When you live in the future,
with all it’s problems and fears,
it’s hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WILL BE.
When you live in this moment
it is not hard. I am here
my name is I AM."

This is a very cute posting. But, I think it is tied to a human perception of linear time. It seems to me that, with all due respect to Him, He is speaking to His radiating into all existence- all at once. Such as; I am before the beginning, I am after the end. I am at your birth, and I am at your death. I am at your salvation...and with all things: I am. Time to a spirit is not a restraint or a definition. Or even a dimension. A second is a thousand years, and a thousand years is as a second. A cute story, but is it the whole story? I have faith that He is in our past, our present, and our future at His will. If not, how then does He inform the prophets? He knows us before we are born, in so many ways. And, sure, it is natural for us do ascribe our attributes to Him, but when we do so...
ofcourse it is tied to our human perception and this is not the whole story.
I just think this is a good reminder for us not do dwell on the past or fear the future and learn to live in the here-and-now, because after all, as humans, NOW is when we can talk to God and be with God... ofcourse God is in our past and in our future, but NOW is when we can enjoy it at each moment in time...
I hope that made sense...
Of course, that made sense. ;)
